January Class is posted but there is little interest

I've posted the details of my Technician (and other license classes) class to be taught in January in all the local newspapers and the ClamDigger for some weeks now. So far there seems to be little interest in such a class. I sent it off to the ARRL long ago but don't know if they ever posted it. The ARRL is not very communicative for a communication organization. I have just three individuals who have expressed interest in the class so far and I need a minimum of fifteen to make the class worth running. I will keep the pre-registration open until January 8, 2012 and hope to get the required number. If not, the class will be cancelled for lack of interest. If you know any potential hams who are interested in a class, have them pre-register by sending email to KB6GV@arrl.net. The text of the information I've been running is as follows.

Free Ham Radio Class Offered

A free class on the entry-level Ham Radio License (Technician Class) will be taught at the Anacortes Yacht Club, 504 7th Street, Anacortes, beginning on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 from 7 – 9 P.M. The six-session class continues on Wednesday evenings through February 22nd, 2012 and is followed by a review session on February 29th and an FCC exam session on March 7th. March 14th is reserved as a snow day and will only be used if needed. Students wishing to independently study and sit for the exams for higher classes of license can also be accommodated. The instruction is free but there is a small cost for the class text book and for the FCC exam session. Pre-registration is required. Please call Vince Henley at 588-9209 or send email to kb6gv@arrl.net for more information and to pre-register.
