Echo on twenty meters tonight.

I had my 2 el quad pointed NNW listening for some Asian DX, but I was surprised to hear W1ESE in AZ coming in S-9 of back of antenna along with a pronounced echo. I guess it's fairly common when propagation is good but was a rare event for me to receive the same signal from opposite directions. What i experienced was the time difference between the two paths with only my human senses to hear the difference. I guess this is why I never get tired of listening to the bands. What with improved band conditions and winter coming on both high and low bands giving round the clock fun.

A true gentleman on and off the air. He was a true friend as well as mentor to me.
